Finalmente llegaron las nominaciones a los Oscar 2021, será una ceremonia atípica por la pandemia de COVID-19, ya que el cine fue uno de los sectores más afectados por el confinamiento, pero también los servicios de streamig supieron aprovechar la situación.Priyanka Chopra Jonas y su esposo Nick Jonas anunciaron a los nominados durante una presentación que se transmitió en vivo por Oscars.org y Oscars.com y las plataformas digitales de la Academia de las Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas.Aunque se tenía esperanza que la cinta mexicana “Ya no estoy aquí” se colara a las nominaciones, esta quedó fuera.Sin embargo, La película chilena “El agente topo” sí fue nominada al Oscar al mejor documental.
